Last year we had a bad time with fleas. My husband used his sprayer with a pesticide and soaked the porch, under the porch and the yard. Our grandson would walk through the yard and his shorts were covered in fleas. I found DE at Lowes after reading an article about it and we sprinkled it everywhere. In a few days we had no more fleas. You can even put it on the dog…it’s a lot cheaper than the flea medicines you buy. Right now we are using it on the dry foods that we are storing.

Does it kill potato bugs in their ‘infant’ stage/ if not, what is a safe way to kill them besides squishing them?

The only place I found DE is at our local Tractor Supply company for livestock, is that safe for use in gardens and food storage also?

Vermiculite is completely different from DE
@ Stork, yes DE can kill earthworms if they consume enough of it.
@ kws46256, DE does not go bad, it can be diluted in water but retains its effectiveness when it dries out.
