Knowing God’s Plans

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
Jeremiah 29:11
We hear a lot of talk about God’s plan for our lives. When faced with making life-changing decisions, others will counsel us to simply follow God’s will. But, do we know what it is? Is it even possible to know God’s will and entire plan/
Although He gave the same commission to each of His followers, he undoubtedly has a unique and specific plan for each and every one of us. We simply have to seek to understand it. But, there is no way we will ever understand God’ plan for our life if we do not spend time with Him. It is in those quiet moments, those times of study, supplication, and prayer, that he reveals Himself to us.
God’s plan is rarely revealed in its entirety. Our knowledge of it will often be limited to specific situations and decision. Few of us will ever audibly hear His answer. We will sense it in the peach we feel as we ponder certain decisions. We then later know for sure when we feel no doubt about the choice we make.
God requires our obedience but we cannot completely obey if we do not know the path, the plan, we are to follow. Daily, we have to surrender to Him. We have to keep His love and His guidance in our sights always because it is only with Him that we will be able to ensure we are right course.
