But is the answer to this Orwellian 1984 society we find ourselves in, actually another 1776?
What many people don’t understand is the American Revolution was a byproduct of a certain worldview, one that goes back hundreds of years before 1776, from the very concerns that troubled the colonial world and culminated in a single question—where does law comes from? The answer to that question is what framed the American Revolution.

Please allow me to present a very poignant point of view that supports John Eldsmoe’s views but from a different perspective. I am a scholar of the universal laws of life and of nature. Yes, there are universal laws that govern all of life and if more people understood this it is indeed very simple. We do not need to get into lengthy debates. Everything within the universe operates within very simple but profound laws and no matter how humans choose to behave they are all subject to these laws. I will be happy to help people in their understanding of these laws that are in the timeless scriptures that have existed for thousands of years.

Look at the stats of having guns and not having them, the rate of crime and gun violence in the gun free states and the states that still have the guns. The stats speak for themselves, we only here from a select few to ban the guns, and the main stream media do not give the truth about the ones who want to keep the guns which are most of us. The President says he wants to protect the children; what about the thousands of abortions the unborn children that are murdered every year, They have placed themselves in a god role to decide who should live and who should not, I think that it was Andrew Jackson that said, a nation that will sacrifice the least of liberty for security don’t deserve neither . The 2nd Amendment was not put into the Bill of Rights for self-protection, hunting, etc.
These rights are indeed not to be infringed upon (of what part does not Sir Piers understand?).
But this is but a minor side protection.
We must stop talking about self-protection and gun hobbies and loudly shout back to limeys like Morgan that the reason the 2nd Amendment is in the Bill of Rights is to defeat any rogue tyrannical government that tries to usurp the natural rights of the citizens. Especially a rogue General (federal) government we have today.
And that cannot be accomplished without my AR-15(s).
