GreenFun: Beginner Vegetable Gardener in Ottawa Canada and his Garden Part II

February 14, 2012

This is my video diary of my first year of gardening. It’s a bit long, but it’s a big garden! Hopefully I’ll get some feedback on how to make it better, this year and in the future. Continued from Part I

  1. Dude! Try some Smartpots! I used them last year for my first veggie garden and they did excellent! I bought their Big Bag, and a few smaller bags. I can’t explain how they work so well, but they did. Please look up Smartpots. I grew lots of cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers. Two different types of eggplants did very well. Grew squash. Carrots did not do well but I think they were thirsty and I didn’t mound them up like I should have. This year I will reuse these fabric bags and also do some raised beds and container gardening. In my part of the country, I will put chicken wire under my raised beds. Good Luck this year!
