Secession Fever Sweeping America

If your county held a secession vote to separate from the rest of your state, would you support it? It may sound theoretical but it’s not, and there is a growing movement across America for rural counties to separate from what is often an out-of-control state government and form the 51st state.

Citizens in at least seven states are promoting secessions movements, looking to escape big-city tax and gun control policies. In fact, several counties in Colorado already voted for secession.

On this week’s Off The Grid Radio, we talk to the leader of one such state group: John Bergener of the Upstate Conservative Coalition in New York. Bergener’s group has found a unique way that New York can be split into two regions that won’t even require approval from the US Congress. It wouldn’t even technically be a new state.

Bergener tells us:

  • How the group’s plan could be duplicated across America, making secession far easier than previously thought.
  • Why rural New York citizens want to separate from Albany and New York City.
  • What everyday Americans can do to promote secession movements in their part of the country.

Citizens in Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan and Oregon also are promoting secession movements, and others likely will join the wave soon. Learn about this growing movement!

  1. Secession is not necessary in my opinion.

Taking back our courts and government is the answer.

“The Power of the Common Law Grand Jury” – In a stunning 6 to 3 decision Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, confirmed that the American grand jury is neither part of the judicial, executive nor legislative branches of government, but instead belongs to the people. It is in effect a fourth branch of government “governed” and administered to directly by and on behalf of the American people, and its authority emanates from the Bill of Rights, see United States -v- Williams.

  2. I would really like to have more information. Where would I find it? Thanks.

  3. Northern CA wants to break away. One reason is to get away from environmental lawsuits. But, that will not happen, because when you create a new state, you must make a judicial court system which will have environmental lawsuits. It would be very hard to word a state constitution to keep the lawsuits you do not desire out.I imagine the Feds would not allow the new state to form until it met their definition of government ,as proposed by lawyers, they want to deal with.

    • If you need the permission of the federal government to secede – “I imagine the Feds would not allow the new state to form until it met their definition of government ,as proposed by lawyers, they want to deal with” – The Feds of course would insist on all the laws and provisions that a secession movement is intended to correct. Asking their permission would be defeating the very purpose of seceding.
