Welcome to Off The Grid radio.  Better ideas to bust you and your family out of today’s global control grid.  Now, here is today’s show.

Brian: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back once again to Off The Grid News, the radio version of our show here at offthegridnews.com.  I’m Brian Brawdy as always along with me, Mr. Bill Heid.  Bill how are you today?

Bill: Greetings my friend.  Greetings I am well and I’m seeing but I’m not seeing you.  You’re normally across the table today but you’re on a little computer screen today so I’m wondering why you’re not here.

Brian: Well you know, thanks to you, thanks to the gang at Solutions From Science and most certainly mysolarbackup.com.  This will be our first show Bill so that our listeners might go, hey, Brian’s audio sounds a little off.  This is the first show that you and I are broadcasting from separate locations.  I’m inside of the lands trailer which is designed with you know, the computers, the microphones, the cameras, all the editing equipment our producer Jeramy designed and force but it’s powered solely off the natural energies of the sun and the wind, thanks to the power hub from Solutions From Science.  So this will allow me to go on locations, Bill, as you know, to different places, maybe the aftermath of a disaster or maybe there’s a breaking news story that you and I want to cover.  We now have two studios. We have the studios at the back of the corporate office where you are today and we have a mobile, the first ever mobile broadcast radio and television station if you will powered exclusively by the natural energies of the sun and the wind.

Bill: I think that’s pretty amazing and it really is I’m looking at you.  You sound great and you look great as we look at you through the computer screen so it’s really a lot of fun and it’s really a testament to the people that spend a lot of time, our engineers and of course, Dave Thank and Jeramy designing and working with you to create that first mobile television and radio station.  It’s just hopefully a harbinger of more things to come like that.

Brian: And I think Bill, it so speaks to you and I and the rest of the gang at Solutions From Science, but our opinion about what happens when you sit, you know, for some it’s the other in Capitol Hill or the White House or the oval office.  When you sit, you kind of honker down and you never get out, you never explore.  You never learn the contrary opinion; this allows our show to literally respond to anywhere.  This is a trailer, it’s a lands trailer. I pulled it behind a pickup truck, believe it or not. You were able to say hey Bri, how about go covering a story in this part of the country or this breaking news story and you and I are able to stay connected not just hunkered down at the corporate offices.  So I’m very appreciative to you as you said Dave Thank of course, Jeramy, his brilliance as an audio and a video producer for having pulled all this off.  I’m very, very excited about it.

Bill: Well it’s a lot of fun and again, we look forward to doing more things and let’s talk about the stuff.   What’s on your mind today? What do you want to, what’s your off the grid story today?

Brian: Well I thought I would start off today, Bill, kind of as you know, it’s easy for me to make fun of myself and yesterday was a perfect example.  I thought of you as soon as I did it but you know, I’ve been kind of busy with, I’ve been doing a bunch of different things so I was running around and earlier in the week, I didn’t stop to put gas in the truck.  So I figured no worries is, I’ll run over to the gas stations, throw some diesel in the Ford and I’ll be set, ready to go.  Well of course, you know me, I had a credit card with me and especially whenever it comes time to buy lunch I always tapping on my chest or on my pants pockets, going hey Bill, I forgot some cash. Can you hook me up for lunch?  And so yesterday, I’m in that same position.  I didn’t go to the cash station today before.  I had like 5 bucks on me.  I go to the pump, Bill, put in my credit card and it’s declined.  And I go, oh that’s kind of embarrassing.  He says, you know, please come inside see the attendant.  So I go into the attendant and give them the card and they decline it a second time.  So I called my bank right away and they go, oh Bri, we forgot to get a hold of you.  We’re sorry to let you know but the ATM credit card systems for the entire region are down.  You’re not going to be able to use your card today.  Here I was, Bill, stranded just a little bit of gas left in the truck, needed to get back to the office and I had no cash on me.  So my off the grid story for the day is one of the things that you always talk to me about.  Make sure you got cash in your pocket.

Bill: Well not only cash is an important thing, we’ve just become so culturally acclimated to just being able to use electrons to produce cash instantly with ATMs and other mechanisms that when someone turns that off, the question becomes how do you live, how then should you live, how then can you live if somewhere someday, somebody shut that spigot off, what would you do?  So number one, you need to carry cash.  There’s a historically, during the depression that giant sucking sound that happened then, cash went very, very quickly, that could happen again to us before we see a hyperinflationary economy but cash some night you could just go to bed and at the next day, you wake up with some sort of default where cash is king and where no one will spend and what was in your bank account yesterday wouldn’t be the same amount that was in as far as spending power is concerned would be there today and so we have to all buckle down and kind of think about what would we do if we just had something like that happen. So the idea, you better have some cash around and you better have enough cash to operate and get to a store if think about cash registers for example. Do you go to store? I think some cases in hurricane areas, when the power goes off, they just take cash.  So there is a lot of that that exists that just not only what we think might happen in the future but just, we have a history for that.

Brian: And as you say, when you least expect it, you know.  I was like great, I’ll run over, I’ll throw some diesel in and I’ll get on with the rest of my day.  It’s those emergency situations and for me, I mean not a terrible emergency, I have enough gas to get back, enough diesel to get back but in emergency situations or survival situations, it’s a part of the problem is how impromptu they are where you can’t play.  I have no clue that the ATM was going to be down and it made me think a lot Bill when you talk to me about gold and some of our other conversations where it’s a good idea to have the gold handy, to have the gold, don’t get gold certificates, don’t, let someone else hold your gold.  You know, have this in a secure place in your own home.  All of those conversations came back to me yesterday when I’m standing with a diesel pump in one hand and a credit card that wouldn’t work.

Bill: Well you sound when you say that, you sound like my grandfather talking because that’s the kind of advice that he always gave.  My grandpa Heid was you know stay close and you know, he didn’t have a lot of money but he could live within his means and he had some cash around.

Brian: Well it was a good lesson and you would think I would know better but it’s the impromptu nature. It’s what happens close at hand when you least expect it that was the most eye opening for me yesterday because you always think it’s going to be there.  You always think you’re going to be able to rely on it and yesterday, I wasn’t able so, as I said, I thought about you, and thought how am I going to keep this from Bill.  And then I think what better way to out myself than to do it on the show.  So don’t do as Brian does, keep cash your pocket, you won’t be in a position like I was yesterday.

Bill: Now Brian, let me say something too – most people won’t do what we’re suggesting.  Most people will not and I was looking at a quote by Albert Jay Nock and I just want to read that to you and see if that resonates a little bit with the kind of stuff that we talk about and maybe it resonates with our listeners as well and here is the quote by Albert Jay Nock and it says, “That in every civilization, there is also a small minority of right thinking and right behaving people who by force of intellect are able to apprehend the important principles of life and by force of character are able to cleave and to live by those principles.”  He calls those folks, the remnant.  I’d like to think that the people listening to this are a little bit of that remnant and some of those folks listening will actually start to do some of the things that we talk about.

Brian: No, I love the quote, and I kind of dig the term remnant because there’s a remnant of all of that, I think Bill, there’s a remnant of all of that in us.  You know, I think a lot about the survival situations and people go well, where will I get my news, how do I microwave my food, what if the air conditioning doesn’t work.  Well that’s 1800, that’s 1895. You know, our country did a pretty good job of making at where we are today without microwaveable hotdogs without air conditioning and without cable news.  I know that’s going to strike everybody as odd but there’s a remnant of that survival, that off the grid expert in each one of us.

Bill: Well for the Heid family, that was, I would say 1965.  You didn’t have to go back to the 1800s.  With my family, it was 1965 where we didn’t have a microwave and you didn’t have a TV you didn’t have anything so that’s kind of recent history.

Brian: Well I grew without an air conditioning.  You know, I saw a report somewhere yesterday Bill that said we’re in a little bit of trouble with this massive heat wave that are going on in the Midwest and in the south, everyone complaining about not being able to get access to air conditioning, but I never had air conditioning growing up.  I suspect I was probably my late teens or early 20s before I’d ever been in the air conditioning.  Do you think we’re to the point and I know we’re going to have to go to a break in a little bit but one of the things maybe that you could comment on, do you think we’ve gotten to a point where we’re getting not only apathetic and lethargic but maybe we’re kind of wimpifying ourselves because we’re so accustomed to the creature comforts that when they leave us, we panic and then you wonder, hey wait a minute, like as you said, just 40 or 50 years ago, we didn’t have all those things.

Bill: You’re talking about rising expectations and with those rising expectations politically in the world we live in, we find a ratchet effect so when we get up to that point where everyone has the right to air conditioning now. So all that’s changed.

Brian: Alright, we’re going to go ahead and take a quick break.  We’ll be back right after these messages.  Thank you so much as always for hanging out with us at offthegridnews.com and now the radio version here at Off The Grid News, come on back.

Did you know that the new Energy Czar wants to control how much power your electrical company allows you to have? It’s true, total government control of electricity in the name of Smart Grid technology is coming, not if but when.  Finally in the news this evening, it’s being reported that cyber spies from Russia and China have penetrated our power grid.  Even as energy experts are reporting that each summer we get closer and closer to the limits of our nation’s power grid. Some of these experts believe that the summer demand for electrical power may finally push the grid over the edge, creating a cascade of power outages across the country.  This generator is solar powered complete with battery backup has no moving parts to wear out or break and requires no gas.  Don’t wait for the Energy Czar to cut your power or raise your rates. Start producing your own power. Go to mysolarbackup.com, that’s mysolarbackup.com or call 877-327-0365, 877-327-0365.

Job stress, painful relationship, unbearable money pressures, deteriorating health conditions. Are political uncertainties in a world spinning out of control keeping you from getting the restful sleep your body desperately needs? It’s true, researchers now know that insufficient sleep can lead to dangerous health problems including immune system impairment but before you reach for addictive pills, listen to this exciting news about a breakthrough in safe and restful sleep.  A new product called a sleep generator is now available and is remarkably simple to use. Just pop the sleep generator in your CD player and hit play, that’s it.  The new program uses sleep-inducing sounds called binaural beats.  These scientifically-engineered audio frequencies interact with the human brain in such a way that it almost forces quick, safe and non-addictive sleep, it’s just that simple.  Created in a special sound lab in Lima, Peru, it seems to generate restful sleep when nothing else will.  So if you’re really having trouble falling asleep, go to www.highspeedsleep.com, that’s highspeedsleep.com.

Phase I of the insider’s plan for a one-world government has been initiated with the recent bailout.  International bankers and power brokers have engineered the current crisis to create a new currency and a new World Bank to act as savior but we’ve only seen the beginning.  Their next engineered crises will be on the skill never before seen in modern times. Shortages and empty shelves will spread fear and panic across the land.  The insiders have discovered that they must control two things to seize total power.  Phase I is a one world currency which we are currently being prepared to accept.  Phase 2 of their insidious plan is complete control of our food supplies.  Go to www.foodshortageusa.com for the details, that’s www.foodshortageusa.com to learn how to prepare for the unthinkable.  Don’t wait for empty shelves; learn how to make your own survival foods for pennies and a dollar.  Go to foodshortageusa.com or call 877-327-0365, that’s 877-327-0365.

And now back to Off The Grid Radio.

Brian: Welcome back once again, I’m Brian Brawdy here as always with Mr. Bill Heid.  Bill, I wanted to get right back in to the question that I started before the break.  Do you think we’re starting to grow to be a little more wimpified?  You know, we talk about survival and we talk about all the creature comforts but 100 years or as you mentioned 50 years ago, we didn’t have the laundry list of creature comforts that we do today so if we didn’t have them, we weren’t missing them.  What are we doing to each other?

Bill: Well I think our world and our division of labor has just made life so easy for us that I don’t think it’s anything that we self consciously have done, Brian.  I think it’s just one of those technological things that’s happened that’s just sort of caught us and I think a necessity is kind of a mother of invention if you have to work out in a field for example, you’re pretty muscley and you’re not very fat and you stay pretty healthy.  But I’ll give you an example.  Today’s it’s very warm here, it’s probably warm where you’re at as well because we’re not that far away. It’s in the 90s.  But when it’s in the 90s now, just think of an example of this kind of thing. There is every heat warning and every little thing if you go into weather channel or hear people talking, they say, don’t go outside and don’t do this and be careful and make sure you hydrate.  You know, when I was young and one of the first kind of businesses that I had was I bailed hay farmers and just did it all the time. I bailed hay almost every day of the summer that we could bail hay when it wasn’t raining for a number of farmers. I bailed hay for more than most farmers because they would just do their hay and I did everybody’s hay, but we didn’t really pay any attention to heat warnings. We were interested in the task of getting the hay in the barn and not how hot it was. So today, I think what has priority is that the temperature and then the getting the hay in or whatever task at hand that you have to do is the secondary thing to how you feel at that moment.  So it was quite a thing.  I mean, we just get our work and we drank water when we were thirsty.  We drank water, we didn’t need warnings and things telling us to hydrate and use this fancy language where we will just drink water out of the well and pump out of the well.  You know, when we were sweaty and we were sweaty and then we would if we got too tired, are you ready for this, you know, we didn’t need doctors or anything.  We just sat under a tree for a little while and then we worked again.

Brian: Wow.

Bill: Yeah high tech, very high tech stuff.

Brian: Ladies and gentlemen, don’t forget to tune in to Off The Grid News for a breaking news technique on how you can survive.  So you sat under the shade of a tree and sipped on some water when you were hot.  Breaking news, oh yeah.

Bill: Once in a while my friends, mom brought lemonade out to us and nobody died and no one really even thought that we had a bad life at all and yet we would soak our clothes, we would sweat so much and work so hard but again, I think just to use that as a little bit of a microcosm for today, I don’t think for one you can get kids to bail hay today around here where we live and most of the bailing done is large bails now but just I know towards the tail end of that, farmers would tell me that they would put ads in the paper and they just couldn’t get anybody to help them, you know, because kids like I’m not going to do that for any amount of money, you know, let alone for $9 or whatever it was so…

Brian: Well it reminds me when I was little.  My grandfather or maybe it was my grandmother but you hear the old line, oh back when I was your age, we walked to school uphill barefoot in snow drifts and tornados. Maybe every generation thinks that the older generation had the remnants, you know what I mean that everybody is a little more wimpified today than they were back then but we got a kind of be careful now in this day and age given that we’ve come to rely on a lot of these things.  You know, we talked about what happens when you lose your power, your ability to get water, your ability to get food, a lot of the things that are so important to our mission statement at Off The Grid News and there are some people that are going to be in a bad way because they don’t tap in to that remnant.

Bill: You have two things that work there, two trends I think that you’re touching on.  One you’ve got a softer populous as we’ve been talking about and two, you’ve got a more vulnerable populous to this technology, to this division of labor, to these things that we speak of, for example you lose the power what happens. So those two trends don’t mend well for each other and I think that there is some major issues in everybody that can do something about it and needs to be in this good shape as they can be in physically. They need to be in good spiritual shape. That’s an important part of preparation as we’ve talked over and over and over. You don’t want to go into this thing with you being, having it all be about you. And I think financial shape as you said, we need to start saving our money and we need to start stop spending as much as we’ve spent and maybe start throwing a few things over board and start going to cash.

Brian: You know Bill, I wanted to turn quickly to offthegridnews.com as you know and a lot of the viewers and listeners that have been coming on board of late know that we’re going to follow the colony.  We write up a little post each day about the Off The Grid if you will, the Off The Grid show that appears on Discovery Channel now and I thought of you last evening in watching the colony and it took me back to the conversation that we had all the way back in episode two when we were speaking with your friend, Frank, the Phoenix native missionary that was living in Guatemala.  In last night show, Bill, I know as you know all of a sudden, there is the proverbial knock at the door and a little colony, that little tight knit group has two people coming in that want to be let into the family. What do you think about that?

Bill: Well let’s talk a little bit about – let’s go back a little bit to episode two.  I think everybody that’s listening should probably go back and listen to that if they haven’t because that really was a quintessential discussion about this very thing.  What do you do when you get a knock on the door? And then they show the colony again – if some people don’t know about this, it’s on Discovery, right, what time is it on?

Brian: It’s on Tuesdays I think, I know this sounds cliché but they’d have to check their local listings but it’s on Tuesday evenings on the Discovery Channel.

Bill: And it’s a very important show and the reason we’ve chosen to feature it is because it does create some scenarios that can provide a way for us to talk about what life would be like under some of the circumstances that we described.  And so when you get a knock on the door, first of all, should you even get a knock on the door and you and I have discussed why not establish a perimeter, right.  I mean if you’re going to really do this and by the way folks, below the article if you go to the article, below is a place for you to comment and I really would love to just you know, exhort you to go there and comment because some of the stuff on the show might play out that way, some of it may not, some of you are very intelligent people, smarter than Brian and I about a lot of this stuff, comment, help your fellow off the gridder or see how some of these things would play off and the very first thing that I saw when you and I talked about this is I would establish a perimeter around the base so that if someone came to you, they weren’t coming right to your home.  You’ve got to begin to stretch things out a little bit. I think anybody that’s been on the Armed Services could tell you, that’s probably not a bad strategy of just pushing that perimeter out first and foremost. Did you notice that as well?

Brian: Oh absolutely and again, it made me thing back to our time.  It also made me think that the producers of the colony must be listening to our show because we wouldn’t know what they’re going to produce in the future episodes but it seems that our passions dovetail I should say.

Bill: Yeah especially with that interview with Frank where he had the knock on the door where someone and then in his case as you remember, the knock in the door was a harmless knock in the door and one that provided an opportunity for charity.  But that’s not the case that’s going on here.

Brian: Well I think as we discussed, I think there’s a chance where the colony could envelope these two folks if they turn out, you know, to be members of a group that will help. But Bill, I’ve got a couple other questions about last night’s show I want to get to when we come back after the break. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to take a quick break.  I’m Brian Brawdy as always with Mr. Bill Heid.  Don’t forget to log on to offthegridnews.com for all things related to Off The Grid living and as Bill said, we want to hear from you.  Please drop us an email at info@offthegridnews.  We’ll be back in just a moment.

Welcome back to Off The Grid radio, better ideas for off the grid living.

Brian: Welcome back once again, I’m Brian Brawdy, here with Bill Heid.  Bill, speaking of better ideas for off the grid living, how do you like last night?  One of the first things they decided to build was a forge and one of the first things they pulled out of the forge was a machete. Security not only in the minds of the colonists but in the minds of everyone that contemplates off the grid living.  Security’s got to be right up there with your perimeter.

Bill: I think that’s an amazing observation and I think even better culturally to see the Discovery Channel actually having people scripting where the folks are making weapons is a huge step towards understanding, look if there is a breakdown, there are bad people in the world and there will always be bad people in the world and so we have to live with that idea.  What are you going to do to protect yourself, your family? I remember you talking one day about you know, you can have all the gold in the world and somebody comes and you’ve got some place where it’s accessible, somebody comes and points a gun at your head and says give me the gold, then you lose your gold or your food stuff or whatever it might be, your women as the case, there’s bad people that will take your wife or your daughter or whatever and man and people have to get that through their head, the bad things can happen and start to think about a scenario and this is just again, watching the colony is a good way to at least put yourself through some mental exercises that help you think about what if this, what if that.  And so they made a machete last night.

Brian: And they made a machete, Bill, and you know, I think as you say that, as you know, and probably a lot of our listeners know, we can get a less than favorable label sometimes when we’re called off the gridders, we’re called fear mongering, you know chicken little, the sky is falling.  But here is the Discovery Channel as you say a noted and respected television production company.  The Discovery Channel going, look this isn’t fear mongering, this is the statement of fact.  This is what can happen when everything you expect to be the norm is gone.  It brings all the people of the world into a much tighter microcosm and bad people are a part of that package.

Bill: They definitely are and as I said, it’s just a great thing to see that, to see the make the step towards the reality of the world.  So bravo, you know, bravo to you Discovery Channel and to the colony for thinking that through because just think, you know, you could take this thing and make into and soft sell it and try to you know, peace, love and understanding it where somebody comes and wants something and you… Certainly, we should try to always negotiate but it was Teddy Roosevelt I believe that made that – did he say something about speaking softly and carrying a machete?

Brian: A big machete, yes – yes he did.  But Bill, that takes us right into the second amendment discussions that I know we’ve had in the past.  How important it is to have not only the right to keep in bear arms but the responsibility as a head of a household be it a man or a woman.  It’s not a sexist type thing but it’s an elder or the head of a household, you don’t have a right to bear arms, you have a right plus a responsibility to protect your family, to protect people that can’t protect themselves, your wives, your children and the like.  Protection is a big deal when it comes to being off the grid.

Bill: Protection is a main part of being off the grid and I think that everybody listening to this you know, you need to have a firearm A and B, you need to know how to use it, C I think your firearm needs to be protected from someone that might use it in an ill advised way or where it might be involved in an accident so you do have some responsibilities but we know despite what liberal media outlets say that the lowest crime areas not only in the country, in the world, are areas where the populace is well armed. It’s just a proven fact.  It’s empirical and everything else is just some chatter.  So you need to have a gun.

Brian: And I think Bill as we watch subsequent episodes of the Colony, that’s your opinion, is going to be bared out.  Our opinion is going to be bared out because they’re not coming with mace anymore.  What’s that little joke, just like you to bring a machete to a mace fight?  The colonists are ready now and it once again is going to show as you say in states where people are allowed and are permitted, unencumbered to carry a firearm, the crime rate is a lot less than in other parts of our country.

Bill: And in a breakdown I think, you know, these things will be pronounced, there will be more crime, there will be more attacks because as shortages develop, people get hungry, people that would normally walk past your food or your gold or guns whatever it is will take on a different persona.  That’s a scary part about humanity, it’s hard to say how far down that will travel, just how base the human being can be but I think we know historically, we have to go through a lot of gory exercises and historical exegees to talk about just we know examples of people and of worlds that just got ugly fast.

Brian: And I hate to keep going back to it and I’m sorry to my listeners, to our listeners that are going to be like, oh you know what, you always bring it up but hurricane Katrina truly was an eye opening experience for me, Bill. And it’s because in that tight little community, you see the whole spectrum of humanity and there are some great powerful compassionate caring folks but there’s also the inverse of that spectrum as well.

Bill: And that’s the case historically, it’s always been that way from recorded history and the oldest ancient manuscripts. We see the same motif over and over and over.  So let’s not try to change man, we’re not going to, we change a little bit at a time. We can change the people in our immediate influence but rather than being starry eyed about whether we could, you know change the world and have perfect peace and harmony like the old Coke song used to be, that’s kind of not a realistic attainment. So I think we’ve got a better err on the side of having a strong defense. We like a strong national defense. I don’t think there’s anybody listening that wants our military to go away completely.  You might have some argument as to how many wars and what wars we ought to be fighting. No one wants our tried submarines to be docked permanently and you ought to have some system at home that you can protect your family and you need to psychologically be prepared to use that.  And that’s a different jump because a lot of folks, you know, if you go to a red neck bar or something and you hear a lot of people, you know, leaning over and having a beer, guzzling a beer and talking about guns, at the end of the day, being able to use a gun and even to be able to fire a warning shot in a tough situation you know as a New York City detective, it’s not an easy thing to do.  It’s not something that you want to just surprise yourself with and wait for that moment.  You need to exercise a little bit of discipline with respect to how one uses guns and you need to practice the emergency situations.  Cops practice emergency situations all the time, right? So why shouldn’t folks like you and me have pretend break ins, pretend assaults, pretend you know advances on the colony as it were.

Brian: And it takes me back again to episode 2 where we discussed that, you know, where I talked about my children and I having a pretend tornado.  We went into the bathroom; we turned off the light, so it’s just great practice.  What’s that old saying? If you panic, you perish.  So if you stay tune to Off The Grid News, you look at some of the articles, you read some of the emails that we get from our viewers and from our listeners, they give us great ideas of different things, of different ways that they are off the grid and there is nothing wrong with practicing those in advance so that we don’t have to panic, heaven forbid should it happen then we don’t have to panic.

Bill: We talk about the same thing with food supplies.  It’s a good thing to practice canning food, to practice dehydrating food. You don’t want to wait for some cultural crisis or for you lose your job or whatever it might be that sends you into this panic state of readiness and preparedness.  You want to be there way out ahead I think of the curve and went out ahead of everybody else so that you can be in a position to help people not just to sort of… you can’t help anyone when you’re in a panic state yourself.

Brian: Well you tell me all the time it goes back to that thing about why they say if you’re on an airplane, go ahead and put the seatbelt on to the younger people that you’re traveling with, you know, put your seatbelt on first and then go take care of them.  You got to make sure that you’re in the right mental as you can say spiritual and physical position.  If not, you’re going to be one of the ones that needs help as opposed to the person that can give that help.

Bill: That’s always good advice, that’s always great advice Brian.

Brian: Alright when we come back in our next segment, Bill, speaking about change, I’d like to talk to you about some of the stuff going on yesterday at the FED and what’s happening in the market today in light of that.  We’re going to go ahead and take a quick break.  Please as always, remember to return right here at Off The Grid News, the radio version of our show at offthegridnews.com.

This is Alex Jones with an important news. I want to warn you about a deadly storm that’s fast approaching.  A storm that will affect you and everybody you know.  Here is the story.  The current administration has commanded a nationalizing health care giving 40 million new people free care.  Now here is the bad news, the current system will almost be immediately overwhelmed by these new demands for free services and procedures. Medicare and Medicaid are already bankrupt. Many doctors are now leaving their practices frightened by the prospective forced procedures. All this is creating a perfect storm which could create unimaginable shortages in the healthcare services.  Folks it’s time to be prepared for the worst.  Our friends at Solutions from Science have recently come up with an emergency preparedness course that reveals how you can make powerful herbal medicines in the privacy of your own home. It’s called Herbal Preparations and Natural Therapies and it’s flat out the best course of its kind. I recommend you visit this important new website at makeherbalmedicines.com, that’s makeherbalmedicines.com, or go toll free 877-327-0365.

This is Alex Jones with five good reasons you should consider buying a solar-powered generator.  1) New climate legislation could easily double or triple your electric bill.  2) Our new energy Czar wants to control how much power your electric company allows you to have.  It’s true, total government control of electricity in the name of smart grid technology is coming. 3) In some areas of the country, the power grid is dangerously overloaded and now new socialist legislation is only compounding the problem.  4) Dangerous weather is always a threat to local grids, every year thousands of families lose their power from weather-related damages.  5) A solar-power generator provides powerful backup, insurance and peace of mind.  Folks, I really believe in the solar-power generators offered by solutions from science, one of my oldest sponsors.  You can get more information at www.mysolarbackup.com that’s mysolarbackup.com.  Remember, the government doesn’t own the sun so go to mysolarbackup.com or call 1-877-327-0365.

Welcome back to Off The Grid radio, getting you ready to prepare for the worst.

Brian: And a part of that worst unfortunately could be our economy.  I’m Brian Brawdy back as always with Mr. Bill Heid. Bill, you know, it’s been a tough 24 hours now.  Now, you know the FED is downgrading our economic outlook. They’re agreeing that they’re going to go ahead and buy up more debt, stocks are down over 250 points, and at least they were in the commercial bank.  We got to pay a little bit of attention to the economy today.

Bill: Well anytime that you get an outright announcement from the FED that that’s what they’re doing that they’re going to monetize the debt, you basically have them saying, we’re going to debase your currency, we’ll continue to base your currency or to turn up the heat on that even to drive faster in that regard and it is only a matter of time until they have it so that this is going to affect your food prices, this is going to affect gold.  This is going to affect lots of different things, land prices, housing prices but one thing I would ask everybody, energy prices, Brian.

Brian: Sure.

Bill: But are your wages going to go up? For the average guy listening to this, prices are going to rise and my question is, are your wages going to raise, and my guess is probably not as fast.  This is typically what happens in this you know beginning to these his inflation area cycles that wages can’t keep up.  Typically what the government does and with this president, you know this is coming, right? Wage and price controls.  At some point, when you get a little inflation, right now, I think you know all of the M3 data shows that the currencies are down, that there’s a giant sucking down, there are so many bankruptcies, there are so many banks just going out of business and whatever, that we’re actually you know, a little bit of a deflationary environment.  But so what they’re saying is we’re going to turn on the spigot and we’re going to pump money and we’re going to pay our bills and pay our bills to social security recipients to anybody, to the states, right, they’re going to bail the teacher out, they’re going to do whatever they need to do to keep this thing floating to keep this Ponzi scheme going for a little longer.

Brian: And what’s surprising to me, Bill, is that you and I and no doubt a good portion of our listeners recognize it, is in fact just that a scheme. You know coming back yesterday; I’m going ahead with a 26 billion dollar additional package. It’s a bailout but there’s not a lot of people in the mainstream media today calling it a bailout even though that’s it exactly in fact what it is.

Bill: Well it’s a huge bailout and it’s one of many that we’ve seen and one of many that we’re going to see in the future because that’s the philosophy. If you take the principle that the state is God and that’s your ratchet up principle we’ve talked about before, that it’s the state’s responsibility, the government’s responsibility to create jobs, to create economy, to create, and that’s what they’re going to do.  They’re going to do whatever they take, whatever they feel they need to do to take control and try to keep the economy afloat.  Now typically in an Austrian cycle, we talk about an Austrian business cycle, what happens is when you have misallocations of capital, people just lose their money, people go broke and that’s a sad thing but it’s an adjustment in the economy.  If you bet, let’s say you want to put another gas station here in Thompson right next to Casey’s down there and you go out of business, that’s just nature’s way of saying there should only be one gas station on that corner. And so the entire economy operates the same way just these mal-investments need to be balanced out, people need to go broke with poorly placed investments. And the key is that needs to take place at a small level in a free market, you risk and you might not get back, right but it also needs to take place at a large market.  What’s happening now is we’re guaranteeing, the public is guaranteeing all of large industries, Wall Street’s risks, the Goldman Sachs, that company’s risks as well as the large banks.  They take risks on things like Fannie and Freddie then they go belly up, who gets stuck with paying the debts, the taxpayers, the consumers and the middle America, the ones that are handful of us left that are paying taxes gets stuck with that and it’s really criminal in some level.

Brian: Bill, how do you think it happened to us? You know, I started out last night going, how if we got in this position? And its most certainly not an attack on the current administration because I think our listeners could take the case that started two administrations ago or more. How have we gotten to the place where government becomes our rodeo clown, where our government becomes our safety net?  How do we ever make that turn?

Bill: Well I think that term is probably more than a couple of different administrations back.  I think at some point, you almost have to go back to Lincoln in that period of time where Abe Lincoln basically created a super monster, federal super monster state and for a lot of reasons that we could discuss on a different show but just that idea and it’s not an original idea. Julius Cesar had a philosophy of handling crowds and anybody that’s watched the Gladiator movie, has seen how we reward breads in circuses so that mentality, I guess what I’m curious about more than anything else, that idea has been around, debasing currency has been around a long time. But I’m curious and perhaps anybody listening to this could go in the comment section, you know, under the audio and comment – does everybody think that this is being done on purpose or is this something that’s just another goofy bureaucratic mess-up where people that think that they can make decisions really can’t make decisions.  You know, Adam Smith talked about the invisible hand and decisions coming from the market, the best pricing mechanism coming from the market.  What is it? Which way is it? I love for people, if anybody is listening that wants to comment on that to comment – are they doing this on purpose to tank it, to gain further control or is it just a sloppy stupid bureaucratic mess?

Brian: And Bill, there might be that third option and it’s kind of where I’m leading towards now and it’s a little bit of the anti ex cop and me but I’m not looking for the criminal.  What I’m most interested in is being off the grid whether of my own volition or someone else’s volition.  I’m putting my energies into figuring out not why it came but what I can do once it gets here.  So I’m hoping that we might have listeners that are along that same path as well.  That just go, there might be times later to finger the criminal.  Right now, I need to focus on the strategies that I learned about from here at Off The Grid News and other strategies that they have to incorporate those and then look for the felon after the fact.

Bill: That’s the good point but they’re not, I’ll bring in this point out, they’re not mutually exclusive in that you can try to be as safe as you can and you can try to own some gold and you can try to make sure you have a firearm at the same time, you can try to stop the bleeding politically and vote for astute candidates who don’t want to spend money for bold and courageous candidates who want to say, I’m just going to say no.  Now, I don’t know if you remember when Reagan was elected after a similar situation, he just vetoed everything under the sun. And can we find some candidates like that, that’s really what’s it going to amount to, can we put those candidates in? I see November coming and I’m scared.  Why, I think a bunch of Republicans are going to get elected, a bunch of good people are going to elected but what are they going to do? Do they have the huspa, do they have the courage to make the hard decisions necessary in a political environment where they’re going to get their head taken off by the New York Times.  They vote to cut some teacher pension or something.  They’re just going to get there, they’re going to 0:50:26.8 are going to take their media matters and all those groups are just going to go on the attack if Republicans or conservatives or Tea-party people whatever you want to call them, come in and take Congress and begin to wrestle a little bit of this control away from the executive branch and the judicial branch, you know, we’re in for a little war on some level between the branches of government.

Brian: And you know that’s a valid point, Bill. I guess for me, I still hold hope in that natural sense of liberty what I believe to be the inalienable rights, more and more people kind of the up-swell and I remember writing a post where I said that you know right after the tea-party was instrumental in recapturing senator Kennedy’s seat in Massachusetts that we have them on the ropes. Career politicians, the political class, they’re on the ropes and if we just say no to entitlement, if we just say no to 0:51:24.0 government, if we just say no to some of the things that have gotten us in this position, I like you to hold out hope that November could be a battle but that subsequent Novembers if we work together as a team now, we can affect it in a positive way for our children and our grandchildren.

Bill: Well I’d love to see that same thing and I guess the problem that I see is good people getting in and people as I said, bold and courageous people getting elected for a time and then what do you do with 14 to maybe 30 trillion dollars in debt if you add it altogether, what do you do? What does a republican do? How does he pay that off? Does he default on it?  He’s got the same problems that the people in congress have today, how do you solve that problem? Do you default on what you owe or do you hyper-inflate to pay it off?  You can’t do any… I mean there is no third path there.

Brian: There isn’t and unfortunately, we’re going to have to leave it there.  Bill, but as you invited our listeners and the readers of Off The Grid News, the newsletter, to send some answers to those questions, we would love to air them on next week’s show.  As always, be sure to log in to offthegridnews.com, email us at [email protected]. Have you ever lost power and wanted to simply flip a switch to get the lights back on? If so, this is going to be the most important message you will ever hear because there has never been a better time to get off the grid and generate your own supply of electrical power. Solar power generators are now available.  These emergency backup systems provide life saving electrical power when you need it the most.  Unlike gas generators, a solar generator runs quietly, emits no fumes, and produces electricity from the sun.  It’s like having an electric power plant running quietly in your own home.  Whether it’s hurricanes, ice storms, brownouts or blackouts, you’ll never have to suffer through painful power outages again. When the power goes out, you will be ready with the solar power generator from Solutions from Science.  Go to mysolarbackup.com to request a free information package today, that’s mysolarbackup.com, mysolarbackup.com or call 877-327-0365, that’s 877-327-0365.
