A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States When reading the Constitution, historical context is not only interesting but a necessity. The 2nd Amendment is such a short and seemingly innocuous statement.
