Arizona’s Volunteer Militia On Call For Public Safety

Arizona volunteer militia members over the age of 45 can now serve, thanks in no small part to Governor Jan Brewer. The Republican leader once angered the far left last year when she signed a volunteer militia bill into law (Senate Bill 1495) which allowed for the creation of a volunteer state militia which operates entirely separate from the National Guard. Republican Representative Jack Harper authored a nearly identical Arizona volunteer militia bill and wholeheartedly praised Governor Brewer for her support of the senate bill. He stated: “I’m very excited that she signed it, of

Arizona Ranchers Begging for Protection from Armed Drug Smugglers

TUCSON, AZ – As mounting pressure from the left increases to further limit the ownership of now legal firearms, Arizonan landowners along the Mexican border say the U.S. Border Patrol seems unable to respond to their requests for protection. Jim and Sue Chilton operate a 50,000 acre cattle ranch along the border just south of Arivaca, Arizona. A five mile stretch of that land is separated from Mexico by a four-strand barbed wire fence that offers little deterrent to those determined to use the Chilton land as their own personal drug trafficking corridor. In early

Democrats Seek to Unravel Supreme Court Ruling on Immigration in Arizona

WASHINGTON, DC – With the Supreme Court hearing arguments today concerning Arizona’s immigration crackdown law, Democrats are busy seeking to pass legislation that would prevent states from enacting their own immigration rules. The legislation sponsored by Sen. Charles E. Schumer (Democrat—NY) would establish federal primacy in immigration by blocking states from taking any action. If passed, such a law would not only prohibit state law enforcement efforts like the Arizona model before the Court, but would also overturn earlier rulings by the Supreme Court that upheld another Arizona law that requires businesses to verify their

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer Calls President Obama “Thin Skinned”

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer expressed disappointment concerning her meeting with President Obama at a Phoenix airport on Wednesday.
