A North Carolina teenager who walks around his neighborhood packing a rifle on his shoulder is making at least one non-gun owning resident very nervous. John Schultz, 19, is from a military family and carries his grandpa’s WWII 303 British Enfield to help protect the area. The Charlotte teenager also wears a bullet-proof vest, packs a knife in a holster, and carries some extra ammo in a vest pocket. While walking around the Walnut Creek neighborhood, the rifle-toting teenager also picks up trash and has spotted several Peeping Toms and would be robbers. When Schultz

The ammo shortage in America appears to be getting far worse. A police department in at least one state put out an all-call to residents for bullets. Proctor, Minnesota Police Chief Walter Woberg was told that his officers would have to wait about eight months to fulfill an order of just 1,000 40-caliber rounds. Chief Woberg has sent letters to Minnesota Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuhar asking for some type of action to be taken to thwart the ongoing ammo shortage in the United States. As previously reported by Off The Grid News, the

AK-47s and AK gun kits will soon be made in America, courtesy of the tireless efforts of Resistance Arms. The new gun company has been wading through the countless governmental red tape and funding hurdles necessary to get off the ground. The small company comprised of like-minded Second Amendment supporters is very close to realizing their dream. The folks at Resistance Arms firmly believe that law-abiding Americans should have access to the same quality weapon which is now mainly only held in the hands of our enemies. The Resistance Arms team has more than two

An oft-forgotten segment of most range shooters’ training is the tactical reload. That’s usually due to the range environment, which discourages anything that looks like rapid movement on the part of the shooter. Most range shooters will, after realizing that their magazines are empty, calmly put the weapon on safe and eject the magazine in

Americans who want to know what future gun control laws might look like should look north of the border. Canada’s gun control laws give us a good look at what future US gun control efforts look like. Even though Canadian gun control laws are stricter than those in the US, they’re just as inconsistent. The enforcement and implementation of Canadian gun laws is just as confusing and illogical as gun control legislation in the US. As in the US, gun control efforts in Canada are driven by emotion and often swing to extremes. Canada’s Illogical

For many shooters, it’s a ritual to pack the range bag and head off to the shooting range. Shooting ranges are great places to, well, send rounds downrange. You show up, unpack your things on the little bench, pull out your weapon, break out into your favorite weaver or isosceles stance, and fire off a

The Department of State has taken control of the 3D printed gun designs that a Texas-based company has distributed online of how to make a plastic gun using a 3-D printer. The Wiki Weapons project on the DEFCAD forum has now gone dark. Just several days after Defense Distributed announced they had reached their goal of making a fully functional gun via a 3D printer and posted the blueprints online, the government took control of the online information. Some lawmakers immediately called for a ban on the 3D printable guns because they are undetectable by

There are a lot of buzzwords about rounds that get passed around. For a new or casual gun owner, these can cause some confusion. As I sat down to write this, I made a list of bullet terms, and the list just seemed to go on and on. I will keep this list more basic and give descriptions of terms that most shooters are likely to see. FMJ FMJ is an acronym for “full metal jacket.” This term was popularized by the Stanley Kubrick film of the same name. It refers to the copper or

When someone buys a gun for home defense, they tend to fall into one of three categories. These categories are based on the amount of thought an individual puts into their planning. Although you may find yourself falling in between two categories, these distinctions should help you see any improvements you can make in your

The confusion surrounding Christ’s view of self-defense is almost unavoidable. Christ certainly does tell his followers to “turn the other cheek,” but at the same time, the same man told his disciples to buy swords (Luke 22:36). Is this a scriptural contradiction, coming from the same source? At first glance, it would appear to be; however, there are some biblical concepts that don’t always make it through the confusion caused by changing culture, languages, regimes, and histories over the course of the last 2,000 years. Needless to say, it does take some explaining to get
