A man from Saudi Arabia was carrying a pressure cooker when reportedly arrested at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on May 11. Hussain Al Kwawahir flew from his home country and through Amsterdam before reaching the United States. Kwawahir supposedly told law enforcement officials that he was in America to visit a nephew attending the University of Toledo. No Need For Conspiracies When We Gladly Give Away Our Freedoms

Immediately after 9/11, there was a groundswell of support for anything the government deemed necessary to make us safer. American flags flew on every car and new legislation passed at a dizzying rate as everyone wanted to do something, anything, to let the world know we weren’t going to just sit here and be a target for every two-bit terrorist that wanted to make a name for himself. There result, among other things, was the behemoth we now know as the Department of Homeland Security. The idea seemed right: ensure that all of our intelligence

Political Correctness Threatens America’s National Security

Political correctness reared its ugly head during the Boston Marathon bombings investigation. The description of suspects in any crime should not be impacted by the illogical desire to avoid offending a particular segment of society. Statements by CNN’s Jon Tobin and President Barack Obama during the search for the terrorism suspects illustrate how deeply the role of political correctness plays in media coverage. The public trust is broken when simply reporting the facts in the case are deemed too difficult for citizens to understand and digest in a responsible manner. Americans from across the country

Congressmen Seek Answers on $50 Million TSA Uniform Deal Made on Eve of Sequester

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) awarded contracts for $50 million of new uniforms just two days before automatic across-the-board spending cuts known as sequester, and Representatives Jason Chaffetz (Rep-UT) and John Mica (Rep-FL) want an explanation. Less than two weeks after the uniform purchases, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned of long lines at airports due to sequester-related furloughs of TSA agents. In a letter to TSA Administration John Pistole, Chavez wrote, “The rationale behind the timing of TSA’s uniform contract and other uncertainties surrounding the contract award raise concerns.”

The Unchecked Militarization Of Government Agencies

The United States Armed Forces hold a special place in the collective heart of America. We’re a superpower, mainly because of our military might. We won the Cold War; we prevailed against a foe that for decades had more men, more tanks, and more weapons than we ever could, but we won because we fight smarter. Our military is peerless, and yet most people don’t realize how constrained it is. Many second- and third-world nations have seen coup d’états that were driven by military leaders; in those countries, he who controlled the guns, tanks, and

Why Are The Feds Stockpiling Ammunition?

A disturbing trend is afoot these days with the federal government’s recent purchase of over a billion of rounds of ammunition – which on the surface, doesn’t seem particularly troubling, until you learn that this purchase is not for the military. Who’s buying up all this ammunition then, if not the military? The Department of Homeland Security, that’s who. If this thought leaves you scratching your head as to why an agency like DHS needs to have 1.6 billion rounds of .40 S&W and .223 Remington on hand, you aren’t alone. Many people don’t really

Millions of DHS Grant Dollars Questioned by Senate Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of Homeland Security is funding a number of projects that, according to a new congressional report, have little connection to its charter for counter-terrorism  Such hard to justify ventures included a hog catcher in rural Texas, a fish tank in a small Texas town, and an underwater robot in a Midwest city with no nearby major rivers or lakes. Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) released a report that acknowledged that much of the spending for the department’s Urban Area Security Initiative seems to be allowed under the program’s rules, but is inappropriate

25 Illegal Aliens Approved For Flight School Training By TSA

BOSTON, MA – Due to a routine traffic stop by local police it has been discovered that 25 illegal aliens were approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to attend a Boston-area flight school. Six of the illegal aliens had already obtained pilot’s licenses. Though the TSA is charged with preventing illegals from obtaining pilot’s license, it failed miserably in this case. According to the Government Accountability Office eight of the illegal flight-school attendees entered the country illegally and 17 were in violation of their approved admission period to the U.S. It took a local

Homeland Security Set to Deploy “Molecular Strip-Search” Devices at Airports and Roadside Checkpoints

WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Department of Homeland Security will soon be using a laser at airports that can detect everything about you from over 160 feet away. This is being made possible by the Picosecond Programmable Laser, a new laser-based scanner that can read everything from a person’s adrenaline levels, to traces of gun powder on a person’s clothes, to illegal substances without subjects even knowing they have been scanned. These laser detection devices are slated to be widely deployed across airports, roadside checkpoints, sports stadiums and anywhere else the government wants to surveil the
