Arizona is often overlooked and yet, it is an amazing place to have off grid locations – simply put, many areas are easy to get away from people as there is quite a bit of open available space. Water is a small issue, but still very easily located.

Being from Tennessee, I couldn’t agree more with [the author]! Great place for homesteading and has been for over 200 years. Country folk require privacy and respect that of their neighbors but are always there to lend a helping hand. Great crop land, lesser extreme winter or summer temps, and beautiful terrain.

We live in rural Oregon. If you are 25 miles away from Interstate 5 the state is conservative. Same in Washington. Actually, most of California is rural with fabulous ranches and farms. Once again, away from I-5 is quite conservative.
