Congress Banning GMO Labeling

Vermont in recent months became the first state to require the labeling of GMO foods, and a county in Oregon went a step further by banning all genetically modified crops.

But if the U.S. House of Representatives has its way, the laws in Vermont and the Oregon county will be reversed — and Monsanto and GMO foods and crops will be protected from coast to coast. Such an anti-states’ rights bill actually passed the House in late July, and it could be law be the end of the year.

That’s the topic of this week’s edition of Off The Grid Radio, as we talk to Judith McGeary, the executive director of the Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance who also serves on the board of directors for the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund.

McGeary is working to defeat the bill, H.R. 1599, and gives us the latest news out of Washington, D.C. She tells us:
