With very little media attention, a growing number of states are rebelling against the federal government, passing bills that explicitly ignore everything from federal gun control laws to EPA mandates to Obamacare.
It’s part of a growing “nullification” movement that some say is the answer to a bloated overreaching government, and it’s the topic of this week’s edition of Off The Grid Radio.
Constitutional expert Dave Benner of the Tenth Amendment Center tells us everything we need to know about nullification and how it can be implemented without approval from Congress, the president or the courts.
Is this the solution that libertarians and conservatives so desire? Benner says yes.
Benner’s argument is simple: Nullification is constitutional. That’s because the U.S. Constitution’s Tenth Amendment guarantees that all “powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution” shall be reserved for the states.
