Focusing on the End Result

“Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed Positively. Pursue persistently.” William A. Ward

Living life is about action. Whether the action is fast paced or slow and gentle is up to you, but if you are not doing something in life, you are not living. However, every action you take, every conclusion you are trying to reach requires purposeful steps if you want it to be successful. This is where planning comes in to play.

We who live the life of the prepper take action on a daily basis. We store, we prepare, we learn, and we practice, all for the inevitable time when our futures will look dramatically different than they do today. But, we cannot prepare without some sort of an idea of how we want that future to look. We know we cannot anticipate every detail, but we can prepare to the best of our abilities.

Even God approaches each of us with a specific plan in mind. We are reminded of this through the calling of Jeremiah, where God specifically states, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11). By focusing on the end result, God was able to devise a specific plan for Jeremiah, just as He does with us. This kind of focus on the end result is exactly what we as preppers should do. It gives purpose to our preparations, offering us a glimpse of where we should be so we know how to get there.
