Happiness Today

“Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.” Jim Rohn

There is a lot that goes into living the life of a prepper. Constant sources of stress can find us on our knees in prayer and supplication. There is a constant “to do” list that needs to be handled on a daily basis. We are inundated with feedback from people around us, some of it positive, some of it filled with ridicule and persecution. All the while, we labor away, providing for our family and prepping for the certain reality of an unknown future.

As we prepare for the future though, we have to take the time to find happiness and joy along the way. We cannot get so caught up in the process of prepping that we become lost in it. Ephesians 3:1-8 reminds us that there is a time for everything. We must honor that and find time for happiness and joy today. Our futures on this Earth may be uncertain but the present is not; we live in it daily and we have to take the time to enjoy life. God loves a happy heart because it is a heart of praise and that is what He desires for us.

Your family and friends are watching the way you live. The image we portray goes far in convincing them we are okay with our choices in life. Many of them do not understand why we live the life of a prepper, why we choose to focus on the potential unknown. Allowing them to see the sheer joy, happiness, and contentment this life brings you may offer them some of the same peace.
