The Path Of A Prepper

“In a time of turbulence and change, it is more true than ever that knowledge is power”

            John F. Kennedy

We have much to learn from each other. Every new topic and area of the prepper lifestyle we may find is usually supported by someone else who has already explored it; we simply have to take the time to learn from them. We can study and practice new techniques, relying on the skills and information others have found before us. Eventually, we include those ideas into our own routines and become experts, able to teach others who come after us.

Knowledge is power and the more knowledge we gain, the better prepared we will become. But, we do not grow that information easily in isolation. We gain knowledge through building community and sharing information. More and more, those involved in preparing for a survival based future are becoming connected. We meet online and in small community groups; we exchange information through discussions, forums, chats, blogs, and videos. These connections are vital to our future success and should be cultivated as much as any other skill we may learn.

The additional benefit of sharing knowledge is that we will continue to gain more of it. There is much to be said for the adage that the more you teach, the more you learn. When you take the time to learn a new skill and teach it to someone else, you increase your own expertise of the topic and can expand upon it to make it better.

The prepping lifestyle should not be a lonely one. Whether we spend time with individuals we have connected with through the internet or in person, that time together is important. None of us will be able to successfully go this route alone
