The Power of Time

Listen To The Article

“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”

–Benjamin Franklin

There are very few constants in this life. Life and death, the necessity of oxygen for survival, and time. Yes, there may be other aspects that are irrefutably constant, but these three function at the most basic level because they each control our lives.

One of the most important of these three is time. Each day has twenty four hours. It does not matter how much we beg, bargain, or plead, we are all given twenty four hours to maximize our day. It is our choice how we spend that time. We can wallow in pity that we never have enough and fail to accomplish our goals; or, we can look for ways to maximize those hours to bring the greatest benefit.

Life is created of time. And just as the verses in Ecclesiastes remind us, there is a time for everything. We need not shy away from time nor get so caught up in it that we allow the hours to pass us by. Instead, we need to take the time to enjoy every minute, of every hour, of every day. That is the only way we will be able to celebrate life.

Tomorrow when you wake up, think carefully about your twenty four hours. Instead of planning for all the things you must do and how those things will take away your time, determine the best way to make use of your twenty four hours so that you can fully enjoy life.
