In New York, two men who looked like off-duty police officers accompanied gun control activist David Hogg.

“Never Again” gun control crusader David Hogg is being accompanied to public appearances by armed bodyguards.

“Here’s David Hogg in NYC today with armed guards and bunch of publicists,” Sean Di Somma tweeted on June 20. Di Somma spotted Hogg and his entourage on their way to a book-signing at a New York Barnes & Noble.

Di Somma’s pictures show Hogg accompanied by two men in three-piece suits who look like off-duty New York police officers. Despite Di Somma’s claims, it is almost impossible to tell if the men are armed from the photographs.

Hogg was peddling his book #NeverAgain: A New Generation Draws the Line with help from a number of publicists and bodyguards, The Daily Mail reported. Moreover, New York is just one stop on Hogg’s summer tour of the United States.

Armed Guards At Gun Control Book Tour

Hogg, a survivor of the massacre at Parkland High School in February, became a celebrity when he started tweeting about gun control after the shooting. In addition, Hogg is one of the leaders of the March for Our Lives protest movement.

During his “book tour,” Hogg will target pro-gun politicians. Not coincidentally, the gun control tour is taking place just before the November 2018 midterm elections.

Hogg is not the only gun-control zealot devoting a lot of time and effort to the 2018 midterm elections. Former New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg plans to spend $80 million to help elect anti-gun candidates, New York Magazine reported. Bloomberg’s goal is to put the Democrats in control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Who Is Paying For The Gun Control Roadshow?

News stories did not say who is paying for Hogg’s gun control roadshow, but Bloomberg is a strong possibility. The media has been presenting Hogg as a sort of David battling the Goliath of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

Hogg even wrote an op-ed called “How to Fight the Gun Lobby” for the July 2nd issue of Rolling Stone magazine. In the piece, Hogg seems to call for an end to the Second Amendment in the name of gun control.

“But the President has it all mixed up; the Second Amendment has us under siege,” Hogg wrote.  Even though Hogg’s commitment to public safety is fuzzy, his ultimate goal is clear: disarming America.

Hogg’s nationwide bus tour is sure to attract lots of media attention and protestors. What’s even more noteworthy is that Hogg refused to respond to questions about the guards from Daily Mail reporters.
