“Give Up Your Guns, Avoid North Korea’s Bomb”

Kim Jong-unSan Francisco, CA – With North Korea’s leader AWOL, the sabre rattling continues. In the past few months, the isolated nation has sunk a South Korean ship, kidnapped Japanese citizens, and now threatens to send nuclear missiles toward Hawaii and the west coast of the United States. And according to an article in the Huffington Post, it’s our own fault.

Jerry Kroth, Ph.D., associate professor emeritus at Santa Clara University in California, writing for the Post said, “The U.S. is, in fact, provoking North Korea by engaging in its ridiculously inflammatory military exercises.” His answer to what he calls unnecessary provocation is to “stop our military maneuvers, now, immediately, and without equivocation.”

According to Kroth, Kim Jung-un could assume the United States and South Korea are planning a first strike. “How is the paranoid regime in the North to know we are simply engaged in harmless ‘exercises’ instead of using the term exercises as a ruse to initiate an aggressive, first strike?” he asked.

Somehow Kroth thinks the 28,000 U.S. troops holding joint exercises with their South Korean counterparts (something they have been doing for over half-a-century) could suddenly mean bad intentions on our part. This in spite of the fact that the number is miniscule compared to the 1.2 million person army maintained by poverty-stricken North Korea.

“And it is no less important to expose the complicity of the U.S. media in its obsessive preoccupation with North Korea’s paranoia and militarism, while dismissively failing to mention that we are, in fact, provoking this pre-psychotic mental case into acting out,” he explained. He added, “a rational, intelligent, and insightful American president” would stop “rattling the cage” of North Korea.

In the past, Kroth has called people that question the party line doctrine of man-made global warming delusional and chastised Americans for fostering a violent culture. Kroth’s solution for the violence is to develop “a culture of peace.”

Kroth explains the way to cultivate a more peaceful nation it to “forbid the sale of handguns, nationwide; to ration the sale of ammunition; to prohibit the sale of violent toys to children (Greece already does); to aggressively control the sale and access of violent video games to children (Australia, Venezuela, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and Brazil already do); and to prohibit the broadcast of violent scenes, explicit or implicit, on network television during family viewing hours, a practice already in effect in many European countries.”

Gun control seems to be working its way into every liberal’s conversation, including those about a madman in North Korea willing to starve his people so that he can maintain his position control.
