Grace Giving Through Prepping

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.” (Romans 6:10-11).

As Christians, we have been given the most beautiful gift in the form of God’s grace. It is a gift we do not deserve but therein lays the beauty of the gift: we do not have to deserve it; we simply have to accept it. Once we do though, we cannot simply stop there. We are called to become grace givers and not just grace receivers. In order to do that, we have to be willing to accept people as they are. We must learn to lead through example and never dictate to others how their lives should be. We should never judge and we must never lose sight of the big picture of living a life for God.

Living the life of a prepper puts us in a marvelous position to become a grace giver. We have the perfect opportunity to use our life as a ministry for others. When they approach us, even if it is in judgment and ridicule, we simply have to remember to accept them as they are, just as Jesus accepted those around Him. We can have conversations, answering their questions and teaching them our ways all the while living a life of example. And at the end, whether they agree or not, we continue to focus on our lives and do not judge their choices. We cannot force them to accept our ideas, just as Jesus cannot force us to accept His grace. We can only keep God as the center of our preparations for the future, knowing that we are living our life for Him and offering giving grace to the world around us.
