Winter Storm Survival

January 8, 2014

We take at a look at our back up systems for when, more likely than if, storm damage knocks out electrical power.
Lighting, heating, and cooking options are discussed.
The news is filled with stories over the winter of stranded motorists and other storm related crises.
One does not need to leave the home to encounter winter storm related issues. Power outages are common for us, as is other storm damage. No power means no heat, no running water, no lighting, etc. Therefore, it is a must for the family to have a plan in place.
In our particular instance, most of the items provide a primary use and serve as alternates during power losses.
Oil lamps, flashlights, and candles are great as easy to manage options, although I would have them in order of importance well below, heat and water.
