A New Manhattan Project in the Sky
In a sweeping interview, researcher and author Peter Kirby outlines his decades-long investigation into what he calls “the New Manhattan Project.”
Kirby exposes the entire covert global program involving the spraying of toxic substances into the atmosphere via high-flying aircraft. Kirby’s book, Chemtrails Exposed, argues that what officials dismiss as harmless condensation trails, or contrails, are actually deliberate emissions of hazardous materials tied to weather control, surveillance, and even population health manipulation. He likens the scale of the operation to the atomic bomb project of World War II, involving multiple government agencies, military branches, and global cooperation.

From Contrails to Chemtrails: A Timeline of Discovery
Kirby traces the public emergence of the chemtrail phenomenon to 1996, citing early investigations by journalist William Thomas, who documented unusual jet patterns and whistleblower accounts from air traffic controllers.
At the same time, the California Air Resources Board recorded rising levels of aluminum and barium in the atmosphere—levels that mysteriously stopped being tracked in 2002. Kirby believes this cessation of sampling wasn’t accidental but part of an effort to suppress the growing evidence of widespread geoengineering.
From those early data points, Kirby launched into deeper research, eventually partnering with Activist Post to publish a series of articles that evolved into his book. The second edition of Chemtrails Exposed includes updated scientific findings, photos of cloud formations likely influenced by HAARP and similar technologies, and expanded sections on aircraft fleets and electromagnetic manipulation.
HAARP and the Hidden Networks of Weather Control
Central to Kirby’s thesis is the role of HAARP—the High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program—and similar ionospheric heater systems. These massive antenna arrays, he claims, can direct electromagnetic energy into the atmosphere, manipulating weather patterns and even creating cloud formations in precise, unnatural lines. While the original HAARP site in Alaska has received much public attention, Kirby says today’s operations are far more decentralized, with smaller devices—possibly even 5G towers—functioning as miniaturized HAARP systems worldwide.
He refers to this distributed system as “HAARP 2.0,” a web of antennas that can collaborate remotely to steer jet streams, increase or suppress rainfall, and saturate regions with electromagnetic fields. Such systems, he says, don’t just support weather modification—they may also interact with metallic particles in the air to enable full-spectrum surveillance and potentially even influence biological systems in human beings.
Toxic Waste from the Skies: What’s in the Spray
One of Kirby’s most striking claims is that the main substance being dispersed is coal fly ash—a fine, toxic byproduct of coal combustion that contains aluminum, barium, strontium, mercury, and radioactive isotopes.
Peer-reviewed research by geophysicist Dr. Marvin Herndon backs this assertion. Herndon analyzed air purifier filters and rainwater samples, confirming the chemical fingerprint of coal fly ash in the atmosphere.
According to Kirby, the reason for spraying this substance may be twofold: it acts as a medium for weather modification and electromagnetic conductivity, and it offers a profitable disposal method for a substance that power plants would otherwise have to pay to get rid of. He calls it “waste management by aerosol”—a grim synergy of industrial pollution and climate engineering.
Aerospace Fleets and Government Contractors
Kirby outlines what he calls two classes of chemtrail aircraft. The first is a smaller, proprietary fleet of drone-like jumbo jets used for targeted operations, possibly operated from remote bases in Alaska or northeastern Russia. These planes, he says, are capable of automated, precision spraying and may be tied to former CIA fronts such as Air America and its predecessor, Civil Air Transport.
The second is a “dual-use” fleet comprising commercial and cargo airliners, such as those operated by Delta, UPS, and FedEx. These aircraft may be covertly equipped with spraying devices and used to create a constant background haze of atmospheric particulates. Pilots may not even be aware of what’s happening, with systems activated remotely and masked as national security operations.
The Biological Fallout: Alzheimer’s, Autism, and More
If Kirby’s allegations are correct, the consequences extend far beyond the sky. He and his collaborators argue that exposure to aluminum and other airborne toxins is contributing to a dramatic rise in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. He references data from the CDC showing spikes in these conditions since the mid-1990s—the same period during which aerial spraying began.
Children, he warns, are particularly vulnerable. Particles small enough to penetrate the lungs can also cross the blood-brain barrier, potentially affecting brain development. In addition, the synergy between airborne toxins, fluoride in drinking water, and heavy vaccine schedules may be creating a perfect storm of cognitive decline and behavioral disorders in young people.
Nanotechnology and the War on Privacy
Kirby also warns of the intersection between aerosol particulates and nanotechnology. Many of the particles sprayed, particularly those from coal fly ash, are nanometer-sized and capable of entering the body through the skin, lungs, or digestive tract.
Once inside, they may serve as conductors or receivers for electromagnetic signals. Combined with the proper frequency input, Kirby suggests, these particles could allow for real-time biometric monitoring—or even influence thought and emotion.
He refers to research that shows how nanoparticles can be arranged into complex structures, like fiber optics, using specific frequencies. This, he argues, opens the door to radical new technologies that blur the line between biology and machine—and between freedom and surveillance.
Black Budgets, White Skies, and Global Secrecy
Despite the enormity of these claims, Kirby says the mainstream media refuses to engage with the topic. In his view, the silence isn’t just skepticism—it’s complicity. He believes that most nations are participating in this project, and that the public’s lack of awareness is the result of tightly controlled information pipelines and coordinated disinformation campaigns.
Yet despite the blackout, Kirby remains optimistic. His hope is that widespread public awareness, driven by independent researchers and citizen scientists, will eventually force the truth into the open. “We have the evidence,” he says, “We just need people to see it.”
