Two U.S. senators from opposite sides of the aisle say President Trump is serious about going to war with North Korea.
“Many of us have begun to hear whispers of more serious war talk in and near the White House,” U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) tweeted this week.
Murphy added, “It’s time to take Trump seriously as he keeps hinting, over and over, that he wants to go to war with North Korea.”

Trump’s tweets could put America “on the path to World War III,” U.S. Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) told The New York Times Sunday.
Corker is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and has been involved in a war of words with Trump.
“He concerns me,” Corker said. “He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation.”
Within the past week, Trump tweeted, “Presidents and their administrations have been talking to North Korea for 25 years, agreements made and massive amounts of money paid……” A follow-up tweet then read, “…hasn’t worked, agreements violated before the ink was dry, makings fools of U.S. negotiators. Sorry, but only one thing will work!”
Later he tweeted something similar: “Our country has been unsuccessfully dealing with North Korea for 25 years, giving billions of dollars & getting nothing. Policy didn’t work!”
Prior to his tweets, he had told reporters that a meeting with military leaders was the “calm before the storm.”
