Picture thousands or even millions of moms from coast to coast pressuring the EPA to pull one of the nation’s leading herbicides, Monsanto’s Roundup, off the market. Now, picture them winning.
Sound impossible? Maybe not. The EPA currently is conducting a registration review of the safety of glyphosate – the active ingredient in Roundup – and is facing mounting evidence that the supposedly safe chemical actually is making us sick, whether we realize it or not.
Just weeks ago, the EPA sat down with a group of outraged moms backed with scientific data showing the dangers of Roundup, and on this week’s edition of Off The Grid Radio, we talk to one of those moms. Moms Across America co-founder Zen Honeycutt has three children who developed major health issues that changed only when she switched to an organic diet. Urine tests had turned up high levels of glyphosate.
- Why the American people should feel betrayed by the government’s role in what we eat.
- How her group got the EPA’s ear, even though government officials didn’t want to meet. (The meeting was set to go for one hour but ended up lasting two.)
- Why she believes the tide is turning in the GMO debate.
- What she sees as the future of Big Ag in America.
Honeycutt and other moms in her organization believe Roundup is the cause of numerous ailments – allergies, autism disorders, gastrointestinal problems – and they say they can win. Listen as this determined mom shares what you can do to fight back against Monsanto.
