Growing chicken feed is a lost art that I’m surprised I don’t see more of in the off-grid community. Got just about an eighth of an acre to spare? You can save ENORMOUSLY on chicken feed … and theoretically bring feed costs down to exactly $0 if you save your own seed and free range, too.

Just thought it would be a good idea to update your article as “The five cheapest ways to feed you chickens” and include growing feed yourself as one of them.
