Letters To The Editor

Dear Editor,

I am encouraged about my family’s survival in rough times as a result of some of the things I have learned. I have one question that keeps me from being into the “program” whole hog. What about the outside world. If I buy the correct seeds and do all the other storage things correctly, what is to keep my neighbors from raiding my garden and perhaps killing us for our food supplies? Even if everything is kept secret it would be obvious that we and our extended family were having something to eat.
Can you rid me of this attitude please?

Hesitant

Dear Hesitant,
Not only can I not disabuse you of this notion, I really think it’s a quite realistic scenario. The simple fact is that those who do not prepare, who have an attitude that the world owes them, that they are not responsible for their own survival but government is to take care of them – these are the people we’re going to have to protect ourselves from in a TEOTWAWKI situation. We can exhibit all the Judeo-Christian charity possible, but sometimes you must meet evil with brute force. You must make contingencies for this. Gather like-minded neighbors and family around you. Become proficient in weaponry and different methods of self-protection. Those of us in the western world have lived under the veneer of “civilization” for so long that we don’t realize that most of the rest of the world does not live this way. Life is not fair and many times can be cruel. Even if you feel you cannot harm another human being for yourself, you must learn to accept that you might have to protect your family from unsavory elements in society should this thin veneer of “civilization” collapse. And the sad fact is, it doesn’t take much to bring the harsh, animalistic nature of human beings into the forefront. A survival situation is no time for hesitancy.

Dear Editor,

Hello,
Any possibility you would recommend a good solid hand cranked mill for grains? I’m a 62-
year-old woman that lives in a 3rd floor apartment. I need something that is stable and has an
attached surface to it so that it it won’t be impossible to use. I do not have any tools or any kind of table
that I could attach it to, might you be able to assist?

Thank you,
Senior Prepper
Dear Senior Prepper,
I have to say that Pleasant Hill is the best source of grain mills, and with the many varieties that they have, you are sure to find something that will not only meet your needs but your budget as well. If you don’t see what you need on their website, call them up and tell them what you’re looking for. They should be able to help you out. That web address is https://www.pleasanthillgrain.com.
