To the citizens of the great United States of America, I submit the picture to the right into evidence that our leader is doing exactly what he openly dislikes in his enemies. Just look closely at his mannerisms and the gun he is using. Shame on whoever set this picture up; shame on whoever handed him that gun.
My pop was a lefty, and the only semi-automatic gun he owned kicked the cartridge to the left. He never let me shoot that gun because it was unsafe to do so. Dad was a stickler about these things. In his words, “If the chamber doesn’t close all the way or if something gives, it all blows up into your face.” This one picture of President Obama tells me just how uninformed he and his advisors are, and it really scares me. These people are influencing our rights, and they don’t know their own business.
Look at the president’s posture in this picture. It is obvious to me, a hunter, that he hasn’t handled a gun very much at all. That he is a rookie at shooting is not the issue. I’m sure he is a busy man. But, if he isn’t an expert on this subject, why doesn’t he have experts in the field advising him? Who looked at him and said, “Yes, you look like a professional skeet shooter– take the picture.” My pop would have raised the president’s elbow and had him lean into the shot. Well, actually, my pop would never have let him shoot that gun in the first place.
And if we don’t want to get distracted by side shows and carnival barkers, why are we putting pictures of our President bumbling with a shotgun, for all the world to see? I ask you, what kind of a message does that send to the world? Why didn’t someone along the line tell the president, “You look silly shooting that gun”? Was there no one on his advisory committee that could look at that picture and see what any gun handler sees? Even worse, are we living the fable of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”? Either way, we are in deep trouble as I see it.
Surely, my president will not limit my right to bear arms without first gathering the knowledge needed to make a competent, informed decision on this matter. The second amendment states, “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” The second amendment is also the only amendment to the Constitution which states a purpose. Our forefathers wanted future generations to know exactly how important this “right to bear arms” is. They didn’t pussyfoot around– no legal mumbo jumbo, just one irrefutable statement– one with a purpose.
It’s high time we let our president know that he does not have any legal or moral right to limit gun control. A sensible man would realize that limiting our firepower will not help our situation one bit, and it’s a violation of our rights. I want the tyrants of this world to be scared as hell of me. How can I do that if I have a cap gun and they have an Uzi?
Mr. President, all I’m asking for is a little common sense, and, oh yes, please remember these wise words: “We are not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by side shows and carnival barkers.”
