Why The World’s Wisdom Will Never Find Truth
There’s a reason the world keeps missing it.
No matter how polished the argument, how educated the voice, or how ancient the tradition behind it… if you start in the wrong place, you’re going to end in the wrong place.
That’s not harsh. That’s just how reality works.
Out here, off the grid, you learn that lesson fast. Start a fire with wet wood, you don’t get heat—you get smoke, frustration, and wasted time. Plant in dead soil, you don’t get food—you get thin stalks and empty harvests.
The fact is… your starting point decides everything.
Two Circles That Change Everything
Let’s slow this down and make it plain. Picture reality as two circles… separate, clean, and not touching. No overlap, no blending, no gray area in between.
The first circle is God. Completely self-sufficient—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—needing nothing outside Himself to exist, to think, or to act. He doesn’t learn, doesn’t adapt, and doesn’t depend.
The second circle is everything else. That includes you, me, the soil under your boots, the trees you split at dawn, and the stars hanging overhead at night. All of it—every ounce—created.
Not shaped out of something that already existed. Not rearranged from raw material lying around.
Nothing… and then something.
Because God spoke.
That’s the line most people refuse to accept.
The Quiet Rebellion Nobody Talks About
From the beginning, mankind has tried to blur that line. Not always loudly, not always intentionally… but consistently, generation after generation.
Back in the Garden, the problem wasn’t lack of information. It wasn’t confusion or misunderstanding… it was a refusal to stay under authority. A desire to become the starting point instead of submitting to it.
That instinct never left us. So when you look at history—especially the history of ideas—you’re not watching a neutral search for truth. You’re watching a steady, determined attempt to avoid it.
The Greeks Didn’t Miss It… They Buried It
People like to paint the Greeks as honest seekers. Curious minds reaching toward truth, just needing a little more time or a little more clarity.
But that’s not what happened.
They weren’t climbing toward the truth… they were building around it. The structure of creation already revealed God clearly, but instead of bowing to it, they reworked it into something manageable.
Something that didn’t require submission.
So instead of acknowledging the Creator, they created systems that kept man at the center. Different language, same rebellion.
The Slippery Fence Line
Here’s a picture that sticks. Imagine a fence running straight through reality, dividing two positions that cannot be merged. On one side is God as Creator, completely separate from His creation. On the other side is every system that starts with man as the measure.
Now imagine a rope stretched along the top of that fence. It looks climbable, maybe even stable… but it’s slick.
If both your feet are on the wrong side, you’re going down. It doesn’t matter how high you climb or how confident you feel.
And if you’re straddling both sides?
That tension won’t hold forever.
The Danger of “Almost Right”
A lot of well-meaning people think the best approach is to meet others halfway. Find agreement, build common ground, and slowly guide them toward the truth.
It sounds kind. It feels reasonable.
But it assumes the problem is distance.
It’s not.
It’s direction.
If someone is heading the wrong way, encouraging them doesn’t help. Turning them does.
The Ruptured Appendix Problem
Think about a man walking into a clinic with stomach pain. A careless doctor might hand him pain meds and send him home, thinking he’s helping.
But what if it’s something deeper?
What if it’s a ruptured appendix?
Now that “kindness” becomes dangerous. Because the real issue wasn’t treated… it was ignored.
That’s what happens when unbelief is treated like a small misunderstanding instead of a full crisis. Natural man isn’t just confused.
He’s drowning.
Trying to Build a Ladder Out of Water
Picture a man floating in the middle of the ocean. No land, no raft, no solid ground… just water in every direction.
Now imagine him trying to build a ladder out of that same water.
That’s human philosophy. That’s what happens when man starts with himself and tries to reason his way up to God. Every step is made of the same thing that’s already failing to hold him.
Descartes said, “I think, therefore I am,” and believed he’d found solid ground. But thinking doesn’t create stability… it just creates more thoughts.
And thoughts can’t save you.
What Romans 1 Actually Means
People often point to creation and say it proves man can reason his way to God. After all, the evidence is there… clear, visible, undeniable.
But that’s only half the story.
The issue isn’t whether God is revealed. The issue is what man does with that revelation.
And what he does is suppress it.
Push it down. Ignore it. Reframe it. Replace it.
Revelation comes from above, but man keeps trying to build from below.
When You Mix Foundations
Some have tried to combine human philosophy with biblical truth. On the surface, it looks impressive… structured arguments, deep thinking, carefully built systems.
But underneath, the foundation is split.
One side says God stands above and apart from creation. The other says everything flows from the same source and can be understood from within.
That tension doesn’t resolve.
It cracks.
Because you can’t build a house on two foundations that oppose each other. Sooner or later, one gives way.
Two Positions. That’s It.
Here’s where things simplify. You don’t need to master centuries of philosophy to understand what’s going on.
You just need to see the line.
Creator.
Creature.
That’s it.
Everything falls on one side or the other.
Why This Matters Off the Grid
Now bring this back to real life. Living off-grid teaches you not to trust fragile systems, not to assume someone else will solve your problems, and not to depend on what you can’t control.
That’s good.
But if that mindset stops at self-reliance, it becomes the same problem in a different form. Instead of trusting broken systems, you end up trusting yourself.
And that’s just a quieter version of the same mistake.
Grace Changes Everything
Here’s the humbling truth. You didn’t reason your way here, and you didn’t figure this out on your own.
If you see it, it’s because God showed it to you. If you understand it, it’s because He opened your eyes.
That’s grace.
Which means you don’t get to be arrogant… but you also don’t get to be silent. Because truth given is truth to be spoken.
Clearly.
The World’s Long Experiment
History keeps running the same experiment. From ancient philosophers to modern thinkers, the approach hasn’t changed.
Man starts with himself and tries to build upward. New language, new systems, new confidence.
Same result.
No solid ground.
Stepping Off the Last Grid
Living off-grid physically is one thing. It’s a rejection of fragile systems and unreliable structures.
But there’s a deeper grid most people never leave.
The belief that man is the center of all things.
The authority.
The starting point.
And stepping off that grid?
That’s where everything changes. Because now you’re not just rejecting systems… you’re surrendering control and trusting the only One who was never in the water to begin with.
That’s the line.
And again… once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
